About
The California Sickle Cell Data Collection (CA SCDC) program is a public health surveillance initiative that brings together expertise in epidemiology, clinical care, data science, and community engagement.
Contributors include public health researchers and analysts from Tracking California, clinicians, and researchers from sickle cell treatment centers, advocates from community-based organizations, individuals with lived experience of sickle cell disease, and partners at the California Department of Public Health and the Department of Health Care Services.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Team
CA SCDC engages a variety of stakeholders to identify priorities, ensuring the information we collect and produce is valuable.
We work with a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) of health professionals, healthcare providers, community organizations, and individuals with sickle cell disease to identify ways our data can be used to enhance policies, healthcare approaches, and treatments for individuals with SCD.
